just because I wrote about it the other day, I finally worked up the courage to shave off all of my eyebrows. It’s a bit scary! I do like it quite a lot though, because it comes with a lot of freedom to do whatever I want to my face. Super high, super thick, super nonexistent, you name it! Naturally I had to try the no eyebrow look now that I didn’t even have to get a glue stick to pull it off.

I quite like it, though I do miss having eyebrows. I found it really interesting that a lot of people would not meet my eye as I was walking about! It’s not that I never do crazy makeup looks otherwise, but I don’t know if there was something in particular about this one that made people really uncomfortable, or if I just haven’t noticed it before. I do think that because it’s not a “pretty” look, people are less sure of how to react. I love making people uncomfortable, though, so I would be very interested to keep an eye out for this the next time I do something unexpected.
I did have a very nice conversation with a lady on the train back, who told me she was very into makeup when she was younger, and who encouraged me to be a makeup artist. It was pretty fun! One thing I do think is very interesting is that frequently when walking about looking strange, it’s old people who react positively and ask me questions. I’m sure it has something to do with the fact that even when I do “weird” stuff, I usually look unthreatening and approachable, and they wouldn’t speak the same way to a man with tattoos all over his face, for example… but it’s still interesting that the people who you might assume would be the most set in their ways, are actually very open to other people’s experiences.
